Our Journey in Faith and Community

Nourished in the Word exists to promote the joy of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ as the strength of the church, the hope for marriage and family, and the good of all people to the glory of God. We are pursuing life and ministry trusting that God will keep us “occupied with joy.” Ecclesiastes 5:20

To fulfill this mission, we:
•Exalt God through joyful worship in private life, family life, and the gathered church.
•Encourage pastors and their wives to cultivate flourishing and enduring ministries.
•Extend the ministries of supporting churches through faithful biblical teaching.
•Edify Christians through preaching and teaching that strengthens their faith.
•Equip churches to cultivate joyful unity and strong Christian relationships.

Ray Rhodes is a great blessing to me; his pen writes to edify and to encourage; his prayers are timely and true; his patterns of life are Christ-like and convicting. I recommend his ministry.

David PitmanPastor Addyston Baptist Church

I have been working with these guys for years now!
I have reached out to Nourished in the Word times innumerable, needing counsel and practical advice on a variety of Christian living topics. Dr. Rhodes has always provided concise, relevant wisdom, usually in the form of three or four actionable suggestions. I thank God for this ministry.

Dr. David BaileyPastor Cottondale Baptist Church

I have been working with these guys for years now. Ray Rhodes presented our staff with a rich and engaging look at the life and ministry of Charles Spurgeon. His extensive research and deep knowledge were evident, but what stood out most was his ability to make Spurgeon’s life and legacy both inspiring and deeply applicable for ministry today. Ray’s passion for God’s Word and for faithfully telling Spurgeon’s story was evident throughout the presentation. Our staff left encouraged, challenged, and reminded of the lasting impact of a life devoted to Christ. I would highly recommend Ray to any church or ministry seeking a thoughtful, Christ-centered presentation.

Dr. Benny TateRock Springs Church

Ray is a faithful minister of the gospel whose love for the local church, knowledge of Scripture, and decades of pastoral experience are evident in both his preaching and personal ministry. His godly character, sincerity, warmth, and genuine love for Christ make him a trusted and encouraging brother. I have personally been strengthened by his ministry and wholeheartedly recommend Ray and Nourished in the Word Ministries.
